Strata
Strata is an inspired-form vessel for a plant. Inspired by the repetition and layering found in nature, Strata’s form contains attributes from fungi, clouds, and canyon and dune formations. Strata is intended to be an indoor decorative piece. Its unusual, unique form lends itself well to hosting a more non-traditional plant such as moss, which grows in the shape of whatever form it is placed on. The individual layers are carved from 40 lb urethane foam and painted with multiple layers of spray paint and automotive paint.
